If you find yourself a little fuzzy on what the term “sustainability” means and how it might be relevant to your role in coffee, or if you’d like to understand the basics terms and concepts behind sustainability, join us for the SCA Coffee Sustainability Foundations course.
Over four 2-hour sessions, we will cover basic sustainability terminology, history, and concepts. We will relate the various pillars of sustainability back to individual roles within coffee, take deep dives into sustainability projects and concepts (such as certifications), and discuss what steps can be taken towards creating a sustainable coffee industry. Along the way we’ll highlight Caravela’s efforts to-wards sustainability and how you as a customer are involved (or can be more involved!) as well.
The course is ideal for any coffee professional wanting to grow their knowledge of sustainability, help develop new sustainability goals or support existing initiatives within a coffee company. Whether you’re new to coffee or have been in the industry for many years, you’ll leave with knowledge about sustainability and how to be a better steward of sustainability through the work you do every day.
We’ll be hosting the SCA Coffee Sustainability Intermediate course in summer 2023!
