Mico de Noche coffee grows in the highlands of Tapachula in Chiapas, best known as ‘The Pearl of Soconusco.’ The Soconusco is the region where this town settles, located in the south of the State of Chiapas, in the border with Guatemala. Due to its geographical location, this town has been of great importance for the communication and commercialization between Mexico and Central America. In fact, many years ago, this region was disputed between Mexico and Guatemala until the borders were finally defined and the Province of Soconusco was declared to be part of the state of Chiapas in Mexico.

Tapachula sits on the feet of two volcanos, Tacana and Pico de Loro, so its volcanic soils and diversity of microclimates make it ideal to produce amazing coffee. Additionally, in this region, you can find all types of species of flora and fauna, especially, the Saraguato Monkey, best known as Mico de Noche because, at nights, coffee growing families hear their strong howl.
