Located in the state of Oaxaca, within the Sierra Madre Oriental, San Mateo Yoloxochitlán, home to a group of organic farms, can be found. More than just coffee farms, these are small family businesses. The picking is done by all the members of the families as they divide into groups and take turns for what they have called “picking journeys”. Flor de Corazón is a blend from some of these families’ farms from the small town of San Mateo Yoloxochitlán in the Cañada region of northern Oaxaca. The Flor de Corazón translates to The Heart Flower in English, and is actually a real flower which hangs in the shape of a pink heart and can be found all over the region. This flower has medicinal properties and has been used for centuries in the region for all sorts of remedies.
