This region is known for its rich biodiversity due to its proximity to the Amazon Rainforest, which is famous for its exotic flowers and native birds, and where you can find unique species of flora and fauna.
The inhabitants of the region work towards protecting the environment as agriculture is their main source of income. The area boasts beautiful nature and species, and there is a special indigenous culture due to the historical presence of the Inca ethnic group. Coffee from Rancho Carmen is grown in a small community within Chinchipe, where the people are known for their strength and unity.
Rancho Carmen coffee has been produced for over 30 years and is the livelihood and main economic activity of the local producers. They maintain their coffee trees in excellent health and use varietals that produce some of the best coffee in the area. Coffee growers from this community work with ACRIM, which believes that “sustainable progress and development of communities can only be achieved by coming together, working as a team, and respecting the environment.
