In the year 1992, after the Nicaraguan war had ended, and the economy was just beginning to recover, Donald Efrain Roque decided to invest his money in a 10 hectare farm with the intention of realising a lifelong dream to grow coffee. He named his farm San Ramon, to honour his father Ramon Roque, who had always taught him to be persistent and committed. With the passing of years Donald Efrain started to acquire more land from his neighbours and his coffee production started to grow. Focusing only on the production of specialty high-end coffees, Efrain now grows Pacas, Red Catuai, Yellow Catuai and Maragogype. He is very careful with the harvest and post-harvest processes of his coffee, always aiming to achieve great quality. Additionally, he is very committed to the environment and the sustainability of his farm. Currently, part of his farm is under renovation and he is starting to grow Maracaturra, Pacamaras, and more Red Catuai. Donald Efrain is a very visionary and passionate man, he works hard to produce the best coffee in the region.
