Rio Coco NOP is a coffee blend composed by 70 small-scale producers from San Juan del Rio Coco, in the department of Madriz. This is a very important municipality for the coffee industry in Nicaragua due to its high levels of coffee production, which is the main activity in the region.

One of the most important rivers in the country, the Rio Coco, crosses this municipality. The brand name refers to the organic coffee produced in the banks of this river. Caravela Nicaragua started working with 35 producers, members of the Cooperativa Arca de Noé. They are all producers of organic coffee with OCIA certification. In 2016, Caravela also started working with 35 producers from la Cooperativa Pablo Velásquez who also produce organic coffees. These two grups join themselves with the objective of producing higher volumes of special and organic coffees.

The Rio Coco NOP brand have a perfectly balanced acidity of red apple and an aftertaste of honey and mandarin.
